We are a national Non-Governmental Organization conceptualized to actively participate and support activities/programs that promote protection and restoration of the ecosystem through partnership with like-minded institutions, organizations and individuals with a shared vision.
1. ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION: Our primary focus is to restore our ecosystems through natural regeneration, reforestation, and agroforestry, reducing, and treating waste.
2. CLIMATE SMART FARMING SUPPORT: Climate-smart agriculture has increased agriculture productivity in Kenya and Africa at large. This initiative aims at educating on more sustainable and affordable practices.
3. GREEN ECONOMY: The use of green energy reduces the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere hence better human wellbeing and builds social equity. Green ecosystem Initiative will work with the governments in enabling green economy.
4. KNOWLEDGE, LEARNING AND RESEARCH: G.E.I adopts a collaborative approach to incorporate knowledge and experience from stakeholders and beneficiaries who includes smallholders’ farmers about climate smart agriculture, ecosystem restoration and environmental conservation, which will contribute to the body of knowledge.
5. POLICY ADVOCACY: The scientific facts and evidence-based policy frameworks have not been sufficient in addressing the challenges of climate change. G.E.I remain committed to climate change advocacy for mobilizing stakeholders to ensure an equitable and sustainable future for all.
